Kindergarten provides a rich background of exciting experiences that encourage a well-rounded childhood. Kindergarten may be a child's first experience in being away from home and family for longer periods of time. It is a child's first experience in adjusting to a daily school routine.
AnchorPoint Christian School kindergarten offers distinctively Christian programming focused on experiential learning in a nurturing Christian environment. The curriculum enables parents/guardians to provide their child(ren) with an education that has a strong academic foundation and a strong biblical foundation - teaching them to look at God's world with a Godly vision.
Children who attend AnchorPoint Christian School kindergarten explore God's world around them. They become more aware of Jesus and how to live for him. As they develop their God-given abilities and talents, their verbal, listening, and perceptual skills improve. Their small and large motor skills are strengthened. Oral communication is expanded, preparing students for reading and writing. They receive encouragement to read and write as individually ready to do so. Developing positive academic work habits improves their ability to work and play with others.
Kindergarten curriculum includes Bible stories, zoo phonics, reading and writing skills, mathematics, science, social studies, art, computer, library, music, and physical education.
A child must be five years old by September 1 of the school year and/or parents/guardians must submit a positive written recommendation from a preschool director/teacher. A child who is five years old before June 1 of the coming school year will automatically be eligible. We recommend that a child with a birthday after June 1 take the kindergarten screening test.
Kindergarten is the foundation for school years that follow; habits and attitudes are formed and basic skills are developed. Our Christian, caring, and experienced teachers are committed to partnering with parents/guardians in all aspects of the child's development. Each teacher considers it a privilege to explore God's world with each child.
